Financial Analyst - Bar W

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance - Bar W, the Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial and analytical expertise. The incumbent works as part of the Finance team to ensure that the organization's financial records are timely, accurate and complete. This role reviews financial reports, budgets, and major accounts to provide recommendations for improvement in processes, procedures and internal controls. In addition, they will support requests from the field and help with analysis of systems and integrations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Compile of monthly management reporting pack, flash reporting, variance analysis, cash flow analysis, financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations and commentary during month-end and year-end process.
  • Ensure integrity of accounting department reporting data; reconcile and manage reporting databases (IFS), coordinate master data changes and hierarchy updates.
  • Provide in depth analysis of operating expense accounts, other income and high-risk accounts. Communicate results to internal department directors/managers.
  • Produce query, reporting and analysis support to Finance and other departments as required, including process improvement recommendations.
  • Support the planning and forecasting process as required.
  • Ensure external audit requests are fulfilled in a timely manner.
  • Leverage technology solutions for innovation and automation initiatives.
  • Some travel required 10%.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and CPA or equivalent designation.
  • Over 5 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP/IFS) and reporting tools (Power BI/Excel).
  • Displays relevant knowledge of petroleum industry.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate across functional groups and build relationships within the business.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities with strong written and verbal communications skills.
