Position Summary:

Reporting to the Manager, IT Cardlock & Retail Services, the Cardlock System Specialist role is responsible to identify, define and prioritize Cardlock issues, needs and resolutions. Interpret business requirements, justifications and executing implementation of system solutions as it relates to the UFA Cardlock network. Leading and collaborating with industry to identify best in class practices and solutions related to Cardlock hardware and software. Managing compliance to regulatory requirement and minimizing risk (financial and regulatory) related to card management, payment card industry (PCI), customer support and site cardlock technology across the UFA Petroleum network.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Play as a subject matter expert and key resource on all existing Cardlock technology including site hardware, Fuel Controller and POS, site communications, Card Management System, UFA Authorization Host, transactional flow to/from SAP, and tank monitoring system.
  • Develop functional specifications that accurately translate business requirements into system configuration and/or process changes and ensure the design will meet business requirements throughout the life cycle of a change. Provide Functional Specifications to Technical team for any customized developments.
  • Support Cardlock incident and service requests related to software, hardware and applications associated with Cardlock requirements.
  • Act as primary point of contact and subject matter expert.
  • Support all phases of a project life cycle including analysis, design, configuration, testing, deployment, post-production support/maintenance, documentation, and end-user training.
  • Obtain strong understanding of technical infrastructure that operates the Cardlock network, partnering with the Petroleum business and internal IT teams. Work with the Petroleum Business to identify business process improvements.
  • Coordinate all unit testing ensuring application configuration changes work as designed in concert with application developments and reports.
  • Work closely with our on-site hardware technicians
  • Identify and justify the best-in-class technology, hardware, and software related to the UFA Cardlock network, including business case development, and liaising with identified vendor partners.
  • Manage and maintain Cardlock transaction and card integrity, mitigating financial risk
  • Appropriately resolving system issues and developing system solutions related to card management and Cardlock technology.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science plus 5+ years of experience in a similar role, and experience with business process management methods
  • Extensive computer skills and system experience. Financial software (including POS), information systems, data modeling, SAP. Proficient with Fuel Controller and POS software, SQL 2016, SAP, PI, information systems, and data modeling
  • Strong communication, planning, collaboration, analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills an asset
  • Ability to pay persistent attention to detail while maintain an overall view of the situation, the enterprise and strategic road maps.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
  • Must be a self-starter, results-oriented and have a record of accomplishment of timely high-quality deliverables.
  • Must have a willingness to learn additional systems and assist other team members.
  • Effective and proven time management, setting priorities and delivery on multiple deadlines.
