Effective October 1, 2022, the Alberta Provincial Fuel Tax will be partially reinstated on select fuel products. The fuel tax rate will change to 4.5 cents per litre on clear gasoline and clear diesel. The fuel tax rate on marked gasoline, marked diesel and heating oil will remain at 0 cents per litre.

This new change is expected to remain in effect until the next review on a quarterly basis. The next review will occur in mid-December and an update will be provided by December 23, 2022.
