S01 E13: Weather Impacts on Agriculture

In this episode, we discuss the impact of changing weather patterns on the farm. Water. Soil. Hail. Wind. Too Hot. Too Wet. It all adds up to an unpredictable variable in farming. If you think of farming like a construction project, you get one shot each year to build a sturdy house. And if you make it to harvest, you essentially tear it down and start all over. So, on average a farmer may get 50 chances in their lifetime to get it right. And if things go wrong, the project can be torn down to the studs at a moment’s notice. The threat of having a producer’s livelihood impacted by weather these days seems to be more likely than ever before. But is it really?
