I have been a farmer/rancher for more than 55 years, having lived on the same farm in the County of Rockyview my whole life, located west of Airdrie and Balzac.
My community involvement included sitting on the Ag Service Board for the country for six years as well as the Subdivision & Development Appeals Board for more than ten years.
X
I'm involved in mixed farm consisting of cow, calf, feeder operation, canola, coarse grains and export hay. I am also a member of French Creek Beef Club and Grain Club.
I became your delegate after discovering that UFA offered further opportunities to become involved beyond customer experience.

Married with four children, my wife Heather and I both come from farming and ranching families in the rural Brooks area. I continued my studies in Agricultural Mechanics at Olds College (1983-85). Following college, I worked as a mechanic, prior to entering the oil patch where I've been involved for over 33 years in various roles. I am currently Sales Manager for Great North Equipment.
I have been farming and ranching, run a 300 head cow/calf operation as well as working with our family farms; Harbinson/Giles Ranches. My wife and I remain very active in the community.
Having lived in the community basically all my life, I understand it and am willing to listen and hopefully make a difference that will help grow UFA.

I grew up on a family farm northwest of Calgary, where our family harvests an annual hay crop to feed our modest herd of cattle, horses and miniature donkey. We also maintain a flock of chickens to sell the eggs.
I spent six years as an active member of the Balzac 4-H Beef club, participating in public speaking competitions, attending 4-H camps and volunteering at Aggie Days. As a teenager I was very active in developing my horsemanship skills, by taking riding lessons in reining, cutting and team penning.
After high school, I attended Mount Royal University and received a Bachelor of Applied Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership in 2009. In 2012, I graduated from the University of Lethbridge with a Bachelors of Science. I am currently in my final stage of writing a Masters of Science thesis in Hydrology from McMaster University, and am planning to defend the thesis this summer.
I have held several jobs in the environmental field, working for oil and gas and the Government of Alberta. My most recent job was last summer, working for the Government of Alberta Agriculture and Forestry ministry in the Alberta Wildfire department.

Born and raised on a mixed farm near Round Hill, I grew up loving farming and the rural lifestyle. After high school, I attended the U of A where I earned two degrees in biology and environmental earth sciences. I then worked for an environmental consulting company for 8 years working my way up to a project management position and becoming registered as a professional geoscientist. During my professional career I began developing my own farming operation in cooperation with my brother and parents. In 2015, I began farming fulltime. I serve as vice president of the Round Hill Renaissance Agriculture Foundation and am a director for the Round Hill and District Agriculture Society.

I grew up on a ranch southwest of Claresholm and graduated from WCCHS in 2000. While in high school I was involved with the Claresholm 4H multi-club. I worked at the Claresholm UFA Farm Store from 2003-2005 and then worked in the Red Deer UFA Farm Store while going to nursing school from 2005-2009. I am a Registered Nurse, and I have moved back home to be closer to family and come back to my roots. I work at the Pincher Creek Community Hospital and Claresholm General Hospital. I am loving being back on the ranch and working with my family. I am currently working on my private pilot license because I fell in love with flying while working as a flight nurse in Nunavut. Recently, I've also started a Manual Osteopath practice in Claresholm. I have enjoyed my first few years of being a delegate and being involved with my community and UFA.

X
I currently own and operate a 2600 acre grain farm. I am the third generation on our farm.
I became your delegate because I wanted to represent UFA members and also further my understandings of co-operatives.
X
My husband and I have a mixed farm in the Whitelaw area. I have been a board member on an ARECA organization, an Ag Society and am currently a board member for our local Recreation Society. I am also a member of the local Ladies Aid Society. While our children were in 4-H, I was an active parent volunteer, as well as being an assistant leader.
X
Born and raised in the Peace Country in the Falher area on a farm near town, I have always had a passion for farming. I farmed with my dad until he retired in 1996 and went on to work as a parts person in a Ford dealership for 15 years. I missed farming so when the opportunity came up I purchased my uncle's farm and have been farming for 12 years.
As a delegate I am willing to learn new things and give back to the UFA in my area. I am currently serving on the Alberta Canola/Canola Grower's Association (CCGA) board and with FFC, a society which aids people with disabilities.
X
I was born and raised on a farm in the Bon Accord area. My husband and I began our own farm in 1977. I am the mother of two boys. I began working for Alberta Hail & Crop Insurance (now AFSC) in 1989. Agriculture has been my life!
As my "day job" as an administrative assistant with AFSC is easing up somewhat, I am looking for something to keep me active in agriculture, outside of the home. I feel I have a wealth of knowledge to share, yet much to learn as well.
X
I homesteaded my land in 1963, and have remained a fulltime rancher ever since. I have harvested grain and grasseeds in the past, but now concentrate on cattle and hay operations. I have been involved in the County of Saddle Lake Ag Service Board, 4-H and am currently the chairman of the Central Peace Natural gas Co-op.
I became your delegate because UFA is a co-operative and member participation is important, so I felt that I could contribute in some way, and also do my best to represent UFA members in the north.
X
For the last 25 years of my career, I was in management positions requiring immediate and long term assessments, solutions and planning. Adaption to the working nature of agriculture requires that ideas and concerns must be effectively passed up and down the communication channels of organizations.
With 35 years of farming experience, as a delegate, I feel I can help in this endeavour.
X
I have been working in the oil and gas industry for 25 years, for the last 6 years, I have been in a lead role and have had several operators working under me. I am in the position to make several decisions as far as budget costs, repairs, maintenance and personnel that need to be done for the Paramount Mirage area. I have been a member of Spirit River Legion Branch 72 for 20 plus years.
X
I am currently farming in the Grimshaw area with my wife and four children. I have a diverse agriculture background, having owned a hog operation, beef farm and dairy farm. My family and I moved back to the Grimshaw area in 2011 to start our grain farm. Currently I am Vice President of NPARA (research farm in Manning) and volunteer at Alberta Pond Hockey.
Being a famer and having run different operations, I feel I have a good understanding of what customers would like to see from their local UFA.
X
I was born and raised on the family farm north of Blackie. I started farming on my own in 1986 and now operate a mixed farm of 1,600 acres crop land and 50 Angus cross cows. Being involved in agriculture all my life, I believe I have an understanding of what farmers and ranchers need for their operations. I am looking for new challenges in my life and to meet new people.

X
We have a small cow-calf herd, raise beef, pork and chickens. We are not organic but try to raise them as natural as possible. I have helped out at church a lot over the last 20 years. I worked at a sawmill as a lumber grader/millwright for 11 years when I first moved to Canada but am currently working for the school division as a maintenance man.
X
I am a full-time farmer, specializing in production of cereal crop pedigree seed and commercial canola oilseed. I've been involved with the farming industry for the past 55 years, and I have over 40 years' experience with the oil industry. I have been a past delegate and director with the Alberta Wheat Pool, United Grain Growers and Agricore United. I am currently the president of the Alberta Seed Growers Association and president of the Friends of St. Basils Society. I've been in a leadership role in many organizations, and feel that my communication skills and ability to listen will lead to being a strong UFA delegate for many years to come.
X
We have been heavily involved with the Alberta 4-H program for the past 18 years and with the Coaldale Ag Society for eight years. We raised a small flock of sheep and now have a herd of mixed bred cattle.
I have always been impressed with the quality of UFA and its employees. Their customer service and farm store atmosphere makes you feel like part of the family. When I had the opportunity to become a delegate, I jumped at the chance to say YES!
X
My name is Rebecca King, mother of three daughters. I am the sole owner/ operator of a grain farm near Kitscoty, AB. I also hold a degree as an educational assistant and am a partner/employee for F'Laura and Company Greenhouse.
My co-operative experience comes primarily from being a member and my late husband's involvement as past delegate. My community involvement includes member of Kitscoty Minor hockey, Kitscoty Minor ball treasurer/secretary, Kitscoty Hall Board grievance leader, Friends of Music secretary/treasurer and Paradise Valley United Church past Sunday school superintendent and teacher. In the past I have sat on many other boards and held numerous positions. As a child I was a member of the Paradise Valley 4-H multi club for 7 years. I have also worked as a DRO for many past provincial elections.
X
Attended Olds College and studied mechanics. I have been operating a farm for 27 years.
I want to be able to address some of the concerns of people and help to promote UFA.

I was born and raised on the family farm in the Fort Macleod area. I graduated from Lethbridge Community College in 1987, and in 1989 I started farming full-time. I married my wife Linda in 1995, and we have two children and three step-children. In 2007, we decided to focus fully on livestock, so we now rent out the cultivated land and run 160 head of cows and 100 head of sheep. I have been a volunteer at the Fort McLeod Fire department, which was the most rewarding volunteer position that I have ever been a part of. I'm a people person and I like to do the best at everything I take on. My willingness to make a difference and be a good listener are what make me a strong UFA delegate.
X
Together with my wife Isabel, we operate a mixed farm (cow calf and backgrounding, sheep/lamb finish lambs, grain, hay). I have more than 30 years of experience and a diploma in Agronomy. I do a significant amount of general construction and have taken many courses over time involving agriculture and construction. I have been heavily involved in minor hockey and have successfully coached badminton in local schools for many years. I spent 12 years on the board of the Ponoka Co-op, and if there is a co-op way of doing something, that is my greatly preferred method of doing it. If it is possible to direct my business to a Co-op/ Credit Union I go to great pains to do so.

I was raised on a small hobby farm outside of Coaldale Alberta. My family comes from a long line of farming in the Coaldale and Lomond area where I spent much of my time growing up. My wife and I have 2 boys and live on a hobby farm east of Red Deer overlooking the Red Deer River valley.
X
I was born and raised in Red Deer, having met my now husband in 2010. At the time he was farming approximately 200 acres of grain land with no livestock. Together over the years we have grown the operation to 1,100 seeded acres, 400 acres of hay and 100 cow/calf pairs, purebred and commercial Simmental, replacement heifers, bull prospects and feeder steers. My husband primarily is the grain farmer, and myself the cattle herdsman. My experience revolves around continuing education as I was not born into the agriculture industry. Currently, my focus is raising our four children and our cattle herd.
I feel I will bring not only a female's perspective into the group, but a young farmer's prospective also. I am a very approachable individual and enjoy advocating for people, as well as my own personal passions, especially within the agricultural community. I am growing my own personal resume and am always honoured to speak at conferences such as The Advancing Women in Agriculture Conference in Calgary 2024.
X
My name is Ken Wagner and I have lived and farmed in the Keephills area all my life. My wife, Cathy, and I have been married for 32 years and we have two married children, both living in Edmonton. I am the third generation to farm the land that my grandfather homesteaded in 1905. After graduating from high school in Stony Plain, I joined my brother Albert on the farm as well as working full time off the farm for the next 14 years. We ran a mixed farm of cattle and grain, at one point running a herd of 250 cows. After BSE hit the Alberta cattle industry, we made the move to grain farm and sold off all the cows. In 1989 we became the first in the area to start to direct seed. Today we farm 5000 acres of peas, canola, wheat and barley. For the past 40 years and more we have bought all of our fuel from the UFA as well as a significant amount of our crop inputs. For the last four years, I have served as a delegate on the Alberta Barley Commission.
X
I grew up on a mixed Farm near St. Paul and pursued an Environmental Science education after high school. I worked for the Alberta Government into my 20s until deciding to build my own farm. I have raised cattle but today focus on crops and sheep with my family. When working off-farm, I divided my time between the agriculture sector through custom applicator and Ag services and the Transportation world, most recently completing nine years as a Safety Advisor and Instructor in both the corporate and private business sectors. I volunteer in my community as a member of my local Royal Canadian Legion and as a Search Manager and Instructor with two Alberta Search and Rescue teams.
I have a lot of respect for farmers and ranchers and I have that first-hand understanding of many of the challenges that the agriculture community faces today. Farm life continues to be, and will always be, my primary focus.
X
I was born and raised on the family farm west of Erskine. My wife and three children currently have a mixed farm consisting of 250 head of cattle and 1,000 acres of crop. I have a post-secondary education in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture Economics. I currently sit as a director for the Drumheller/Stettler Wildrose Constituency Association. I am currently the offensive coordinator of the Stettler Wildcats High School Football team, a basketball referee and a long-time member of the Stettler Agricultural Society. In 22 years of coaching football, I have developed strong relationships and contacts with many families throughout the Stettler area, and I hope to bring my strong economic, communication and leadership experience to my role as a UFA delegate.
X
I live outside of Strathmore with my wife and three children, and farm 1,000 acres of irrigated and dry-land hay with my parents. I graduated from Olds College in 1998 with a major in Agricultural Business and Entrepreneurship.
I became your delegate because I feel that I can represent UFA members by being accountable and open to discussion. I have some knowledge of different aspects of agriculture and cattle and I understand what the young generations of farmers face and need, while also respecting the established members. I also want to be a part of UFA and strive to help it grow so that it is something my children and their children can be a part of in the future. I want to look at ways to recruit new members while keeping a strong connection with the existing members.
X
I am currently farming my grandfather's homestead as a third-generation farmer with a plan to bring my youngest daughter and her husband into the operation as a fourth generation. I have been operating a mixed farm since 1974.
As a long term farmer who has hopes to pass the operation down yet another generation, I have a vested interest in as wide a field of service providers as possible and co-ops offer flexibility and community responsiveness. I like to understand the inner workings of complex organizations and I would hope to gain this insight while offering some service and knowledge to UFA. I do like to work in group settings towards a common good or goal.
X
I'm the owner/operator of a half-section of irrigated farmland in the Taber area. I have a mixed operation with row crop, grain and livestock. I have 25 years of experience in the oilfield, where I started as a labourer and finished as an oil battery polymer plant manager. I was also a farm equipment salesman for three years, and this is when I realized I loved dealing with people. I believe if you deal with people openly and honestly, you earn their support. I developed a sense of pride for UFA after finishing high school, when I worked for the Farm Development Division. I feel my skills and experience make me a good representative for UFA and for the members in my district.
X
Positive rural lifestyle values were instilled at a young age as I grew up on a small mixed farm northwest of Trochu. For over 40 years my husband and I have had the pleasure of being the UFA petroleum Agents in Three Hills and Trochu. Raising our two children and running a successful business gave us much pride. Serving our valued customers in Kneehill County and surrounding area has been an honor and created lifelong friendships. We reside on a quarter section southwest of Three Hills, and recently made the tough decision to retire as the petroleum agents, hoping to spend more time with family and friends.
X
I am a 5th generation farmer on our family farm south of Vegreville, we currently farm 1800 acres of cropland. I also attended SAIT and Lakeland College, and am currently farming and operating my own mechanic business. I am an active member of our local Ag Society, Beaver County Seed Plant Co-op, Salem United Church and the UFA Co-operative Leadership Council (CLC). My wife and I, along with our children, also volunteer around the community throughout the year.
X
X
I farm 12,000 acres with my father and brother near Vulcan, which I've done since I returned to the farm in 2000. I'm a member of the Champion Lions Club, on the board of the Champion Congregational Church and an advisor to the Alberta Pulse Growers Commission.
I'd like to represent UFA members in my community because I believe community involvement is important. I enjoy public speaking and have no problem voicing my opinion in a public forum.
X
I am a seed and angus beef producer, as well as being a former delegate for the Provost region. I am a member of several co-ops and believe strongly in giving them my patronage. As well, I am a former employee of a local seed cleaning co-op and on in the process of building my own seed cleaning plan.
X
I have been in the Westlock County for 46 of my 51 years. I ranch with my wife of 25 years and our son and daughter. We currently have a 130 head of cows. I have been involved in either farming/ranching, oilfield hauling or maintenance throughout my life. I am a past board member of Rainbow for the Future – Ethiopia Development Charity. I have been a Rotary member for 8 years with 7 of those years being on the executive and am at present a delegate for Alberta Barley.
X
I have been farming since 1970 and continue to this day with custom farming, actively baling and trucking bales. From 1976 through 1985 I had an Allis Chalmers dealership. I was a councilor for Brokenshell R.M. for six-and-a-half years as well as serving on the board of directors for Borderline Feeders and supplying them with hay and straw bales from the beginning until they were sold.
I have good relationships with customers (farmers and ranchers) and businesspeople that I have dealt with. I enjoy talking to people and look forward to promoting UFA and enhancing the business here.
X
I have been involved in the fuel and agriculture industry for many years. Both my father and grandfather were in the business and in 1979 we purchased the Gulf agency in Langenburg, Sask. I worked at "Dreger's Gulf" during high school, learning customer-facing retail, light mechanics and fuel truck operations. I went on to work for the Co-op system, moving through Retail Manager and General Manager roles for over 25 years. My final position for the last ten years was General Manager of Twin Valley Co-op in Manitoba. I left to pursue my passion for agriculture and worked for a variety of public and private companies, deciding to purchase Andres Farm Services with my brother and partners in 2022. We operate a fertilizer business serving customers in the MacNutt, Sask. area.
I believe my experience in the areas of UFA's business, combined with my Co-op and Board experience will allow me to contribute to the continued growth and success of the co-operative.
