The AgraTronix 07140 Windrow Hay Moisture Tester is a unique, portable device designed for measuring the moisture content of loose hay and forage directly in the windrow before baling or chopping. This tester eliminates the need to use baling or chopping equipment prematurely, saving time and expense by ensuring hay is at the optimal moisture level (ideal range: 18–22%) to prevent mold, preserve color, and maintain feed value. It features a moisture range of 13% to 70%, depending on the hay type, with test results displayed in 30–60 seconds and an accuracy of ±2% to 4%. The tester uses a simple method: fill a 5-gallon bucket (not included) with hay from both the top and bottom of the windrow, compact it to the rim, and insert the probe for measurement. It operates on a single 9-volt battery (not included) and has a display resolution of 0.1% moisture. An optional dish probe accessory (07253) is available for added versatility.
