Introducing UFA’s Moose Jaw Petroleum Agents

In March 2024, UFA announced that its next Saskatchewan Petroleum locations would be Melfort and Moose Jaw. Today, UFA is pleased to introduce the Petroleum Agents who will be operating the new Moose Jaw location, as well as the existing UFA site in Swift Current, Jason and Jennifer Meyer. They are both from Saskatchewan and have been involved in agriculture since childhood, having grown up farming in the Gravelbourg area. Jason's family farmed grain, while Jennifer's family had a mixed grain and pig farm, and from a young age, both learned the value of hard work and discipline. For over 23 years, they have proudly owned and operated Jason's Agri-Motive in Lafleche, Saskatchewan, serving the local agricultural sector. The Meyers have a reputation for stellar customer service and going above and beyond for their customers day or night.

In January 2023, they moved to Moose Jaw to provide their children with more opportunities for their education. They have two children, Erica, 17, and Ethan, 14, and this past summer, the kids helped the family business by working in the store. "It was all hands on deck!" says Jason. Between drama club for Erica and hockey for Ethan, there isn't much spare time left over, but when they can, the family likes to vacation down south and ski in British Columbia.

While their location may have changed, their dedication to supporting farmers remains stronger than ever. Jason says, "I'm looking forward to offering more choices for our customers in Saskatchewan." He adds that giving back to the community is paramount and one of the reasons why he and Jennifer pursued UFA Co-operative. "Some businesses have lost sight of what it means to support local independent business owners and the value of community building. UFA still holds the co-operative values close, and it's obvious in the decisions it makes. We are excited to be a part of a co-operative that gives back."

Jennifer has taken on an essential role in day-to-day office operations at their UFA locations, where she will continue her commitment to excellent customer service. Jason will manage the agency focusing on expanding their customer base and ensuring competitive prices on all fuel, oil and lube products. Most importantly, he will ensure that customer service and safety remain the top priorities.

"We are thrilled that the Meyers have joined UFA Co-operative," says Doug Charriere, Vice President of Petroleum Operations, UFA. "They have a proven track record of excellent customer service and deep experience serving agricultural customers across the province. The Meyers also share the same co-operative values as UFA, and we look forward to supporting their efforts in the community and the growth of their business in Moose Jaw."

In addition to UFA's Moose Jaw location, the Meyers will also be operating the Swift Current location which is moving from a corporate site to an agent-owned site. Jason and Jennifer are grateful for the support from the community and look forward to serving new and returning customers with the same dedication and care that has been the foundation of their business.
