As wildfires continue to spread across northern Saskatchewan, communities are facing evacuations, property loss and uncertainty. In response to this crisis, UFA is donating $10,000 to the Canadian Red Cross 2025 Saskatchewan Wildfires Appeal.
The donation comes just days after Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe declared a provincial state of emergency on May 29 due to the scale and severity of the wildfires.
UFA's contribution will be matched by the Government of Canada, doubling the impact to $20,000 in support for those affected. These funds will help provide emergency shelter, food, clothing, and other essential services to individuals and families displaced by the fires.
"At UFA, we believe in standing with our communities in times of need," said Fred Thun, President and CEO at UFA. "As a co-operative rooted in agriculture and rural life, we understand the profound impact wildfires have on our members, customers and the communities we serve. These are not just places on a map—they are home to families, farms and livelihoods. In times like these, it is our responsibility to step up and support our neighbours. That's why UFA is proud to contribute to the Canadian Red Cross and help provide relief where it's needed most. Our thoughts are with our members, customers and communities in Saskatchewan who are facing these incredibly difficult circumstances."
If you'd like to help, donations to the Canadian Red Cross 2025 Saskatchewan Wildfires Appeal can be made at www.redcross.ca. All donations made before June 30, 2025, will be matched by the federal government.
You can also choose to support other Red Cross wildfire appeals, including those for Manitoba or other regions across Canada.
Together, we can make a difference for those who need it most.
