UFA is proud to announce that we have once again been recognized as one of Alberta's Top 85 Employers for 2026, marking fourteen consecutive years on the list. First honoured in 2013, this achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a workplace where employees feel valued, supported and empowered to serve members and customers across Western Canada.
"Being named one of Alberta's Top 85 Employers for the 14th year in a row is a remarkable accomplishment," says Fred Thun, President and CEO. "What makes this recognition so meaningful is that it reflects who we are at our core. Our people make UFA what it is. When we invest in their well-being, their growth and their experience, we strengthen our entire co operative. We foster an environment where team members feel a deep sense of purpose and understand that the work they do every day is meaningful. I'm incredibly proud of the culture we continue to build together, one where our teams feel connected, supported and inspired to deliver excellence in service of our members and the communities we support."
This year's competition editorial team noted that UFA's selection "reflects the co operative's ongoing contributions to building one of the most vibrant and opportunity rich provinces in Canada."
Some of the reasons why UFA Co-operative was selected as one of Alberta's Top 85 Employers for 2026 include:
- Offering industry leading mental health, wellness and benefits programs, including $2,500 in mental health coverage and expanded wellness categories.
- Providing unique co operative based perks such as 30 per cent in store discounts and fuel savings.
- Delivering robust training, internal mobility and career development pathways, including the Finance New Grad Rotation Program and Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) supported training.
- Fostering a purpose-driven, respectful, community rooted culture, with strong leadership accessibility and shared success.
- Making significant, measurable community contributions, supporting more than 400 community initiatives annually.
- Investing in future talent through scholarships, mentorship and structured early career programs.
