A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT AND CEO, SCOTT BOLTON
With the increasing number of positive cases we are seeing across western Canada due to more contagious variants of COVID-19, please be assured UFA remains committed to providing safe, reliable service to our members and customers. We know you have important work to do, and we are here to help you get it done.
LETHBRIDGE FARM & RANCH SUPPLY STORE
We recently confirmed two positive cases of COVID-19 at our Lethbridge Farm & Ranch Supply store. The last time these individuals were in our location was April 9 and 13. UFA performed a deep cleaning of the site, provided COVID-19 rapid screening tests to employees working at the location, and advised these employees to self-monitor for symptoms and isolate. UFA has a policy in place to provide employees with a one-time paid leave during this pandemic for employees that are required to isolate due to illness.
Additional employees have now tested positive for COVID-19. The last time these individuals worked at the store was on April 23. As a result, UFA will be temporarily closing this location to perform an additional deep cleaning to disinfect all areas. We will reopen for standard business hours on Monday, April 26, with additional support from other locations in our network.
Because of the extensive preventative measures UFA has implemented and maintained, we believe the risk of exposure to our members and customers is low. However, out of an abundance of caution, we are asking anyone who has visited this location between April 9-23, 2021, to self-monitor for symptoms and complete the online COVID-19 self-assessment if you experience any symptoms related to COVID-19.
UFA sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause and wants to assure you that we remain committed to protecting the health and safety of our members, our customers and our team. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates if new information becomes available.
PREVENTATIVE MEASURES
ALL UFA Farm & Ranch Supply stores and Petroleum Agencies have enhanced measures in place to protect everyone who shops at our locations including one-way aisle markers, distancing barriers at the checkout counters, plexiglass dividers, limits on the number of people that can be in a location at one time, the wearing of masks and frequent hand washing. These measures ensure our members and customers have the opportunity to shop safely at our sites.
As part of our normal practice, all of our stores, agencies and facilities are cleaned regularly. In response to COVID-19, we increased the frequency of our cleaning in order to maintain a healthy environment, including regular disinfecting of high-touch and high-traffic areas such as our checkout counters, point of sale machines, door handles, and more.
