Team Jacobs, the recently crowned Canadian Champions, will take on the world proudly wearing the maple leaf and UFA logo on their chests at the BKT World Men's Curling Championship. Skip Brad Jacobs, vice-skip Marc Kennedy, second Brett Gallant and lead Ben Hebert are in Moose Jaw, Sask. preparing for their matchups that start tomorrow, March 29 with the final medal games taking place April 6. (See full TSN broadcast schedule below.)
UFA is a proud sponsoring partner of Team Jacobs and will be cheering hard as they battle to bring home a World title. A win at this year's Championship would be the first since 2017 for Canada, although the four core members of Team Jacobs have a great history of winning, which includes a host of major championship and Olympic medals. Their full bios are here: Team Jacobs - The Grand Slam of Curling.
Olympic Qualifier
Team Jacobs will also be looking for a berth at the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Games. Valuable points from the 2024 and 2025 World Championships will be added together to determine the first seven countries to qualify for the Games. The team to represent Canada at next year's Olympic Games will be determined at the Canadian Curling Trials this November.
Enroute to the World Championships in Moose Jaw, the foursome paid a visit to our Moose Jaw UFA team at the petroleum agency that just opened in December 2024. This site, along with the recently opened Melfort agency, complement UFA's existing Saskatchewan locations in Corman Park, Kindersley, Macklin, Swift Current, Weyburn and Yorkton. UFA also announced an exciting investment this year in the construction of a new petroleum cardlock in the Global Transportation Hub Authority (GTH), located near Regina, furthering our commitment to expanding our co-operative's fuel network throughout Saskatchewan.
